Press Release: CRP Secures Grant from Carolyn Foundation for Climate Solutions

Clean River Partners is pleased to announce that they’ve received a $25,000 grant from the Carolyn Foundation, which will support their work in climate solutions. This generous funding will enable us to continue engaging communities in meaningful climate action through education, volunteer opportunities, and hands-on habitat restoration.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Carolyn Foundation for their support,” said Jennifer Tonko, Executive Director at Clean River Partners. “This grant will empower us to expand our outreach and deepen our impact on the communities we serve, as we collectively work towards a more sustainable future.”

In late May, Clean River Partners collaborated with Carleton College, the City of Northfield, the Northfield Rotary Climate Action Team, and the Northfield chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby for a pivotal gathering focused on climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resiliency on the Northfield Riverfront.

This event served as a platform for stakeholders to come together, share ideas, and align our climate action efforts. “The ability to connect and collaborate is crucial in addressing the challenges posed by climate change. By broadening our discussions and inviting diverse voices, we can leverage our collective knowledge and experience to create lasting solutions,” added Jennifer.

Clean River Partners remains committed to fostering environmental stewardship in our communities. Through ongoing educational programs and volunteer initiatives, we aim to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to take impactful action against climate change.

We invite community members, local organizations, and individuals interested in climate action to join us as we continue this essential work. Together, we can cultivate an environment that not only addresses climate challenges but also promotes sustainability and resilience for future generations.
