Join Clean River Partners and Sharing Our Roots as we collect a variety of seeds from prairie habitat.
Prairie seed collection is essential for restoring and maintaining the ecological health of prairies, which are among the most threatened habitats. Collecting seeds allows for the propagation of native plants, ensuring genetic diversity and resilience within restored prairie ecosystems. This practice also provides valuable learning opportunities about prairie plants and their life cycles.

About Sharing Our Roots Farm
Sharing Our Roots envisions a world where food and agriculture systems are profitable for farmers, fair to workers, beneficial to consumer health, restorative for rural communities, and regenerative for the environment.
At their 163-acre farm outside of Northfield, Minnesota, they are championing how formerly monocropped farmland can be transformed into thriving ecosystems of people, livestock, wildlife, and plants that benefit soil and water health.
Sign Up for our Volunteer Corps program!
Volunteer Corps connects people and organizations with hands-on opportunities to protect and improve our water and natural environment in southeast Minnesota. We do this work by partnering with local organizations and recruiting volunteers for restoration and conservation activities, such as invasive species removal, native seed collection, tree and native species plantings, and our signature Watershed-Wide Cleanup.
