Get outside this spring and make a lasting impact on local lands!
Join us in building a new trail at the Cannon River Wilderness Area. This trail will provide access to a beautiful part of the park that has previously been mostly unused, and will allow development of one or more new camp sites.
Dress for outdoor weather conditions.
Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Bring a water bottle, too!
No previous experience is necessary; all tools and training will be provided. We'll meet at the County Road 20 east trailhead parking lot and walk about a mile to the start of the proposed trail. Plan to work from 12-4pm with a break for light refreshments around 2pm. Registration is recommended so that we know how many to expect; walk-ins also welcome.
This pin is for east trailhead parking area.

More about the Cannon River Wilderness Area
The Cannon River Wilderness Area includes approximately 850 acres of wooded river valley, extending for three miles along both sides of the Cannon River between Northfield and Faribault. Many of the natural features of the park make it one of the premier areas of the entire county, with habitats that range from maple-basswood forest to prairie, calcareous fen, and river bank plant communities.
