QUEERY Meetup: Pond Study

Ever wonder creatures you can find in our local ponds, lakes, and streams? Spend the afternoon dipping in the pond searching for aquatic macroinvertebrates!

Learn how to identify these amazing creatures and how they can be indicators of water quality. Come ready to be at the water’s edge and getting a little messy as we look for these tiny creatures.

What is QUEERY?

QUEERY is a free, inclusive nature club designed specifically for queer and questioning middle and high school youth in Southern Minnesota.

Every month, we gather for exciting activities that foster outdoor skills, build friendships, and explore the unique ways queerness can be found in the natural world. From nature journaling, hiking, and birding, to tours of local greenhouses and kayaking, each meetup is an opportunity for adventure and discovery!

A woman with gray hair and glasses smiles warmly, standing by a river beneath a rust-colored bridge. The scene feels calm and serene.
